Product development is like the growth of a beautiful flower. It starts as a seed and grows through various phases, each phase building on the development that preceded it. The growth is bounded by, and responds to, the constraints and influences of the environment and the flower adapts. In the end, the flower blooms, a work of art fully developed from the original seed yet thriving and perfectly adapted to the environment in which it grows.

We can work hand-in-hand with your in-house staff (marketing, engineering and production) or we can work independently, delivering a turn-key design meeting your specifications. In either case, we bring to the table creative designers and engineers with experience in a wide range of industries. Our breadth of experience enables us to cross pollinate, to bring concepts and solutions from different industries to bear on your needs.

While each project is uniquely structured to meet your particular needs, all projects include eight essential steps. The steps may be more or less distinct, depending on the complexity of the program but the steps will be completed before the product is realized. acumen can assist you with any one or all of these steps, enabling you to enter the market more quickly and profitably.
