Commercial HVAC Systems

acumen designed an air conditioning system for the network/telephone center of a nationally-known software company. This center provides call-in customer support for a nation-wide network and the network/equipment space requires stringent control of both temperature and humidity. acumen estimated thermal loads experimentally and verified the estimates through an inventory of installed equipment. We then specified climate control equipment to meet the estimated loads and prepared detailed construction documentation.

For another client, acumen specified the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system for a 20,000 office facility used by US Government agencies. The building loads included high concentrations of computer and electronic equipment as well as high occupancy loads in auditorium and classroom spaces. Security concerns required two independent air conditioning systems, one of which could be powered by an on-site generator in the event of a loss of utility power. acumen delivered a complete system design including equipment specifications and construction documentation.
